When is it best to see the doctor?
Your first aid kit and lots of tlc are usually all you need for minor cuts and bruises. But there are times when it's a good idea to visit the doctor.
If you have any doubts, call your GP. It's always best to be on the safe side.
Deep cuts, objects embedded under the skin, large wounds and burns that are more than a reddening of the skin should always be professionally treated.
See your doctor if the wound doesn't seem to be healing well. And watch out for signs of infection including redness and swelling of the skin, a yellow discharge, a bad smell or increased pain.
