Preventing injuries

We all know that the best cure is prevention. If you've had any injuries make sure you're fully recovered before you play again - see your GP or physiotherapist if you need to check. And follow our great hints and tips to help prevent injuries and keep you in the game!

  • Remember the basics. Always warm up and cool down - those all-important five minute jogs and stretches really do make a difference.

  • Don't try to do too much too soon - build up your strength and fitness level slowly.

  • Take a break if you feel any twinges.

  • Make sure you've got the right equipment. Choose well-fitting shoes or boots that are designed for the sport you're playing.

  • Protect knees and ankles with Elastoplast adjustable stabilisers.

  • Drink lots of liquids.

  • Give your muscles a chance to recover between sessions.
